My name is Jane Mealey. I am first of all a follower of Jesus, as well as a wife to Dave and a home-educating mom. We have five wonderful children, the oldest three completing their college/high school years and working. The youngest are being homeschooled and also taking some of these classes.
My background is teaching, in fact my heritage is that there are quite a few teachers in the family. After graduating in 1981 from Western Washington University, I began teaching at Bremerton Christian School, which is presently King's West. I taught the primary grades there for five years, and then began to raise a family. I never expected the Lord would lead us to homeschool, but we have been at it now since 1991. The Lord has been faithful to lead us along the way.
When my oldest was four I began teaching classes to homeschoolers with Kim Baumgaertel, whom I had taught with earlier. Ever since then, we have been teaching together in one way or another. We began with science classes and have since added writing, literature and history.
I consider it a privilege to work with homeschooled children, and enjoy getting to know their unique personalities.
